Our language courses

Choose between a standard, conversation, business, or a diploma preparatory course for various internationally acknowledged exams at our language school.

 

You can learn in a small group with 3–6 participants at the same level or opt for private lessons. Group courses are planned for a duration of 10 or 12 weeks.

 

Before the course begins, we assess your language skill level through a free written placement test to ensure that all participants in a group have the same level. For business language courses, we additionally conduct a needs analysis to define your individual goals and expectations.

 

If you wish to attend a group course, you may book a free trial lesson.

 

If you require greater flexibility, we recommend private lessons. For CHF 50 you may book a trial private lesson of 60 minutes. When booking private lessons, you have the possibility to cancel or reschedule lessons up to 24 hours in advance.

About us

professional language center is your language school in central Zurich which offers personalized instruction in small groups, semi-private lessons (for two students), or private lessons at all levels. We take pride in knowing each of our individual students on a personal level. Our experienced teachers provide lessons at our language school at Paradeplatz, online via Zoom, or directly at your company – even if it is located outside the Zurich area. This way, you save both time and energy.

 

Our strength lies in offering language courses in small groups ranging from 3 to a maximum of 6 participants. We firmly believe that only in small groups is it possible to succesfully address the individual needs of each participant and thus guarantee to maximize the learning progress, whether in a standard, professional, certification, or conversation course.

 

You can choose a language course in German, Swiss German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Swahili, Norwegian, Arabic, Greek, Hebrew, or Mandarin.

Private lessons

Do you have specific needs and learning objectives? No problem. In private lessons, you set the pace. You determine the course content, learning speed, location, and focus. We tailor the course for you. If you wish to learn a language intensively, private lessons are the ideal solution.

 

Our teachers are experienced in identifying individual strengths and weaknesses and can also prepare you specifically for language exams.

 

Language exams - telc and Oxford Test of English

In addition to language courses, professional language center is an officially recognized examination center for telc exams and the Oxford Test of English (OTE). You can register for these exams directly on our website.

 

The Oxford Test of English is an affordable, personalized general English proficiency test. It is 100% online, flexible, fast, and available at plc's offices.

 

The test consists of four modules: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. You may take the full test, individual modules, or any combination, depending on your personal requirements.

 

Results are valid for life and recognized by a growing number of institutions worldwide.

 

You can also prepare for an internationally recognized telc language certificate at our language school. In our telc preparatory courses, where you practice all four skills (reading, listening, speaking, and writing), become familiar with the exam structure through mock exams, consolidate grammar rules, and expand your vocabulary set. To successfully reach your goal, you should be prepared to invest approximately 3–4 hours of homework per week. Please contact us if you want to book a preparatory course.
